Fazilka 11 Aug 2025 : The Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has given a big gift to the people. According to reports, the government has released ₹13.6 crore for development works in Jalalabad, Fazilka. Jalalabad MLA Jagdeep Kamboj Goldy shared this information during a meeting at the Market Committee office. He said that residents of Jalalabad had been facing drinking water issues for some time.
Keeping in mind the demands of the townspeople, the Punjab government has sanctioned ₹10.68 crore for laying pipelines and other repair works. Tenders have already been issued, and the work will begin within the next 15 days. The new pipeline will be 4.5 kilometers long, providing 200 new connections, and will extend to cover a 16.5-kilometer area in the old parts of the city, including Rajput Wala, Dashmesh Nagar, and several slum areas.
He further stated that the Mann government has also allocated ₹3 crore for lanes and other development works in Jalalabad, which will start soon. The newly constructed mandi (market) in the city will soon be dedicated to fruit traders. Market Committee Chairman Dev Raj Sharma and a large number of people were also present on the occasion.
