Chandigarh 12 Sep 2025 : The department has shared the latest update regarding Punjab’s weather. The Meteorological Department has predicted that some parts of Punjab, especially areas near the border, may experience continuous rain for four days.
According to the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain is expected in the districts of Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Rupnagar, Mohali, Fatehgarh Sahib, and Patiala. No alerts have been issued for other parts of Punjab. The public has been urged to remain cautious.
Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains warned people through social media. He stated that 5,000 cusecs of water is being released from the Bhakra Dam, as the Meteorological Department has issued rain warnings for September 12, 13, 14, and 15. He added that in view of the forecast, we need to remain on alert for the next 3–4 days. Rain is expected in the districts of Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Nawanshahr, Mohali, Fatehgarh Sahib, Patiala, and Rupnagar.
