After 2 AM last night, storms hit several districts and heavy rain began. According to the Meteorological Center, the western disturbance is still affecting the state today, with strong winds blowing at speeds up to 60 kilometers per hour. The Chandigarh Meteorological Center reported that in the last 24 hours, the average maximum temperature in the state increased by 0.9 degrees Celsius, though the temperature remained around the normal range. Bathinda recorded the highest temperature of 44.3 degrees Celsius.

It is noted that there is widespread rain from the south to the west. The low-pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal has now intensified into a depression. Due to this, heavy to very heavy rain is forecasted in the eastern and northeastern states. States like Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh may soon see the southwest monsoon become active. Meanwhile, southern and western India are experiencing continuous rainfall. The monsoon arrived early this year from Kerala to Maharashtra and Goa, resulting in continuous heavy to very heavy rain.
On Friday, May 30, 2025, the national capital Delhi and surrounding areas are expected to experience rain accompanied by strong winds, which is expected to provide relief from the humid heat. The low-pressure area in the northwest Bay of Bengal has now become a depression, located about 260 kilometers south of Kolkata.
This system is likely to deepen slowly and move northwards. Due to these weather changes, coastal Odisha, northern coastal Andhra Pradesh, and coastal West Bengal have experienced thunderstorms and rain. For the next 48 hours, heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in northeastern India. Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, and Nagaland may receive very heavy rain in some places. Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura also have chances of heavy thunderstorms in several areas.
