Malerkotla, 10 July 2025 : In an effort to enhance public convenience and ensure easy access to government services, the working hours of the Sewa Kendra located on Raikot Road have been extended. Starting tomorrow (11 July), the center will now remain open for 12 continuous hours, from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
Providing this update, Assistant Commissioner (General) Gurmeet Kumar Bansal stated that the decision was taken considering public feedback and daily routines. People who previously faced difficulty visiting the Sewa Kendra during regular daytime hours due to work or other responsibilities will now be able to avail services in the morning or evening as per their convenience.
He mentioned that the number of citizens visiting the Sewa Kendra had been steadily increasing. To meet the growing demand and improve service delivery, the extension in working hours was implemented. He emphasized that under the government’s people-centric approach, efforts are continuously made to ensure that citizens can access essential services near their homes and with minimal time and effort.
Currently, 445 types of government services are provided at Sewa Kendras, including:
- Aadhaar Card services
- Birth and death certificates
- Caste, income, and residence certificates
- Marriage registration
- Pension-related services
- Ayushman Card, and more
With the new extended timings, people can now conveniently access these services after their work hours as well.
The Assistant Commissioner urged the public to take full advantage of the extended service hours and to directly contact the Sewa Kendra for any further information.
