June 3, 2025 : This time, during the days of Nautapa (a traditional weather phase), Punjab did not experience the usual heatwave. According to the Meteorological Department’s report, the average maximum temperatures recorded in various districts over the past few days have been about 2.1 degrees Celsius lower than normal. On Monday, June 2, Bathinda recorded the highest temperature of 42.7 degrees Celsius.

Today as well, the maximum temperature in many areas of the state is expected to remain between 36 to 38 degrees Celsius. This season, Punjab did not witness a severe heatwave. Experts believe this could affect the monsoon, as the absence of heat during Nautapa may weaken the monsoon season. This could have a direct impact on agriculture.
