Batala, March 25 : Dr. Harjinder Singh Bedi, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), Gurdaspur, informed that the Department of Food and Civil Supplies, Government of India, has issued guidelines to ensure 100% e-KYC of beneficiaries availing ration benefits under the National Food Security Act-2013 by March 31, 2025.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) further stated that in Punjab, for the past year, e-KYC of beneficiaries has been conducted through e-PoS machines by depot holders by taking beneficiaries’ fingerprints. However, many beneficiaries have still not completed their e-KYC. The Government of India has directed that beneficiaries who do not complete their e-KYC by March 31, 2025, may have their ration benefits suspended. Therefore, all beneficiaries are urged to visit their nearest ration depot with their Aadhaar card and complete their e-KYC by providing their fingerprints on the e-PoS machine before March 31, 2025, to avoid any difficulties in receiving ration in the future.
In this regard, Sukhjinder Singh, District Controller of Food and Supplies, Gurdaspur, stated that all Assistant Food and Supplies Officers and field staff have been instructed through meetings to ensure 100% e-KYC of beneficiaries. They have been directed to spread awareness about this among political and prominent figures, village sarpanches, and councilors in their respective areas to facilitate the completion of the e-KYC process.
Summary: Ration card holders must complete their e-KYC by March 31 to avoid disruptions in benefits. Ensure timely verification to continue receiving rations.
