Delhi 12 march 2025 : If you have bundles of ₹100 or ₹200 notes, you may want to spend them soon. However, if you don’t, nothing will happen, but a significant change is coming. Reports suggest that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is soon going to issue new ₹100 and ₹200 notes. These new notes will bear the signature of Governor Sanjay Malhotra. However, their design will remain similar to the previously issued Mahatma Gandhi (New) series notes.

Will Old Notes Be Discontinued?
The RBI has clarified that all previously issued ₹100 and ₹200 notes will remain valid and will continue to be in circulation. RBI’s Chief General Manager Puneet Pancholi stated that this decision aims to maintain stability in the banking system and ensure a smooth cash flow.
Additionally, RBI will soon issue new ₹50 notes, which will also bear the signature of Governor Sanjay Malhotra. These new ₹50 notes will be similar to the Mahatma Gandhi (New) series notes. Sanjay Malhotra took over as RBI Governor in December 2024, replacing Shaktikanta Das.
