Amloh/Fatehgarh Sahib, August 25:
The modern sports grounds being developed by the Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, at the district level and in villages across the state will help keep the youth away from drugs and encourage them to take up sports. These views were expressed by Amloh MLA Gurinder Singh Gary Baring while dedicating the newly constructed modern sports ground at Village Turan to the public.
MLA Gary Baring said that five more modern sports grounds have been completed in the villages of Dadhaeri, Kumbh, Mianpur and Salani in the Amloh Assembly constituency. He said that facilities are being provided at rural sports grounds for volleyball, football and other popular traditional sports. At the same time, trees are also being planted around the sports grounds to promote a green and healthy environment.
MLA Gary Baring said that the Punjab Government’s objective is to provide sports facilities in every village of the state and make Punjab a leading state in the field of sports once again. The construction of sports grounds in villages will provide young people with opportunities to channel their energy in a constructive direction, while also providing an appropriate platform for hidden sporting talent in rural areas to come forward.
On the occasion, District Council Chairman Singara Singh Salana, District Sports Officer Harpinder Singh, along with other leaders and officials, were present.
