Special Anti-Drug Rally and Street Play to Be Held in Malerkotla on April 25

Malerkotla, April 21: Under the “War Against Drugs” campaign launched by the Punjab Government across the state, a special awareness rally will be organized in Malerkotla on April 25 to raise awareness against drug abuse. On this occasion, a special street play will also be performed by Islamia Senior Secondary School (Monday). This information was shared by Additional Deputy Commissioner Sukhpreet Singh Sidhu while chairing a meeting with officials of the concerned departments to review the preparations for the rally and the street play.

During discussions with the officials, the Additional Deputy Commissioner emphasized that it is time to transform the fight against drugs into a people’s movement, focusing on making Punjab, especially Malerkotla, drug-free. He directed the officials to ensure the successful execution of the event.

He stressed the need for comprehensive arrangements related to security, medical services, traffic management, sanitation, drinking water, parking, and fire safety protocols. He instructed the officials to ensure that the general public, students, and citizens do not face any inconvenience during the rally.

During the drug-free walkathon, officers and teachers were asked to fulfill their social and moral responsibilities with honesty and play their role in spreading the message of a drug-free society among the people.

On this occasion, SDM Malerkotla Harbans Singh, SDM Amargarh Surinder Kaur, SP (H) Gursharanjeet Singh Sandhu, Deputy Medical Officer Dr. Reshma Bhora, Acting Principal of Government College Malerkotla Arvind Kaur Mand, Principal of Government College Amargarh Meenu, Principal of ITI Malerkotla Kamaljeet Singh, Rakesh Kaur, Principal of Islamia School Jameel Mohammad, Tehsildar Lavdeep Singh, Executive Officer Aparapaar Singh, and Seva Singh Sajjad Ali, along with officials from various departments, were present.

Summary: As part of the “War Against Drugs” campaign, Malerkotla will host a rally and street play on April 25 to raise anti-drug awareness.
