‘Taarak Mehta’s Sodhi’ Actor Faces Crores in Debt Despite Owning ₹55 Crore Property

Chandigarh, January 13, 2025: Gurcharan Singh, famous for his role as “Sodhi” in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, is currently hospitalized and struggling with financial debt. His close friend Bhakti Soni revealed that Gurcharan has to repay ₹1.5 crore. She also claimed that Gurcharan’s family is not supporting him during this difficult time. Neither his friends nor relatives are coming to his aid. She further disclosed that Gurcharan’s father owns properties worth ₹55 crore but is not doing anything to help him.

In an interview with ETimes, Bhakti Soni stated, “Gurcharan Singh is burdened with nearly ₹1.2 crore in debt. His father owns ₹55 crore worth of property. Unfortunately, tenants are not vacating the properties, which has led to disputes. If the matter is resolved and the property is sold, he will be able to repay his debt.”

Gurcharan Singh’s Savings Exhausted
Bhakti Soni claimed, “Gurcharan has exhausted all his savings. When he needs help the most, neither his family members nor anyone else is supporting him. Only a few friends like me in Delhi and one other friend are providing him financial assistance.”

Gurcharan Singh Fell into Debt After Starting a Business
It’s worth noting that in July 2024, Gurcharan Singh had spoken about his financial troubles. He disappeared for several days, and when he was later found, he shared with Bombay Times that he left Mumbai during the 2020 coronavirus pandemic and decided to start a business. However, it failed due to various reasons, leaving him in financial distress and deeply worried.
