At the launch, Trump described the platform as a major overhaul of how citizens interact with the federal government, saying the “entire US government will fit in the palm of your hand.”
One Portal for Federal Services
America.gov is intended to bring information and services from multiple federal agencies into one online platform.
According to the White House, users can ask questions in plain language and receive information through the AI-powered system. More government transactions are expected to be added as federal agencies integrate their services with the platform.
Trump Promotes AI-Based Government Access
Trump presented the portal as part of his administration’s push to modernise government technology.

The portal has also attracted attention over how its AI-generated answers handle politically sensitive questions.
Reports after its launch found that the system sometimes produced answers that differed from statements made by Trump, including on issues such as the 2020 election and presidential term limits.
The administration subsequently modified some responses and avoided answering certain sensitive questions, according to reporting.
Privacy and Security
The White House says America.gov is designed as a secure and service-oriented platform, with an emphasis on protecting users’ personal information.
The system is expected to connect with Login.gov as more federal services are incorporated.
