Chandigarh, December 30, 2024 : Malayalam film and TV actor Dilip Shankar was found dead in a hotel this morning. He had been staying at a hotel near the Oneroz Junction in Thiruvananthapuram. His death has shocked the Malayalam TV industry, with friends and fans grieving the loss. According to reports, a hotel staff member found the actor’s body in his room and immediately called the police. The police have reportedly filed a complaint. Several reports stated that Dilip had been staying at the hotel in Thiruvananthapuram for the shooting of a TV show called “Panchgani” four days ago.
Dilip Shankar lived in Ernakulam. Hotel staff mentioned that he had not come out of his room for two days. On Sunday morning, a foul odor emanated from the room, and when staff entered, they found him dead. The police were notified and arrived at the scene. The ACP of the Thiruvananthapuram Cantonment told News9 Live that a forensic team examined the room, and further information will be provided after the post-mortem.
According to the police, no foul play has been detected. Director Manoj, who worked with Dilip on the show, told Manorama that there had been a two-day break in the shooting, during which Dilip did not respond to any calls from him or his co-stars. The director also mentioned that Dilip had been struggling with health issues.
