Nangal, May 5 : Across the country, our students are currently facing intense competition. To ensure students make the most of their time, it is essential that they are provided with quality education and a suitable platform for competitive exam preparation near their homes. In this regard, the Punjab government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is fulfilling its promises.
Now, in Nangal, arrangements for training for the country’s biggest competitive exam, the UPSC, will be made available at Government Shivalik College for the bright future of students.
Sharing this information, S. Harjot Singh Bains, Cabinet Minister for Higher Education, School Education, Technical Education & Industrial Training, Language, and Information & Public Relations, recently informed students at Government Shivalik College that training for the UPSC exam will now be provided within the college itself.
He stated that due to lack of information or the difficulty of commuting to big cities and arranging accommodation, many capable students are often unable to participate in competitive exams. The government is making efforts to ensure that preparation for all major national and state-level competitive exams can be done near students’ homes or in accessible areas.
He further said that in the C-PYTE camp in Nangal, the Punjab government is spending crores of rupees where training is being provided for the Army, Security Forces, Armed Forces, Police, and various other competitive exams. In this camp, the government is offering free preparation, accommodation, and food for students.
Mr. Bains also announced that a nursing college is being opened in Sri Anandpur Sahib, which will provide employment opportunities to local female students after completing their nursing education.
He added that the infrastructure of government schools from primary to senior secondary levels is being transformed. In the Sri Anandpur Sahib constituency, development work worth nearly ₹100 crores is underway in government schools. For example, ₹12 crores have been spent on the School of Eminence in Kiratpur Sahib. In Nangal, a modern swimming pool, an Adarsh School in Sri Anandpur Sahib, a shooting range, and an Astroturf sports ground are being constructed.
The vision of a vibrant Punjab is also becoming an educated Punjab.
