Delhi, December 23, 2024: Actor Varun Dhawan, known for his commitment to fitness and wellness, recently revealed that he has stopped drinking black coffee in the morning due to gut issues and acidity. His statement, however, sparked a response from nutritionist Prashant Desai, who disputed the claim, calling it inaccurate. Varun has now responded to the criticism.
Varun Dhawan on Black Coffee
In an interview on Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast, Varun shared his concerns about the impact of black coffee on gut health when consumed on an empty stomach. He explained that starting the day with black coffee had negative effects on his gut, and he found that switching to blonde roast coffee was gentler on his stomach. He also advised the host, who drank black coffee on an empty stomach, not to do so. “If you get up in the morning and start with only black coffee, even if you don’t have gut trouble, you will start having it,” Varun said.
Varun Faces Criticism
Varun’s remarks were met with criticism from health expert Prashant Desai. On Instagram, Desai wrote, “C’mon Varun, really? This is so not true. I have been having black coffee for 15 years now after waking up, on an empty stomach. No issues whatsoever. What is true is that everyone’s gut is different, like your fingerprint. But to say everyone will have gut issues and acidity is not true. Varun Dhawan may have had acidity, and so be it. Food is personal. What doesn’t work for someone doesn’t make it a universal truth!”
Varun’s Response
Varun took the criticism in stride, thanking Desai for his input and expressing his willingness to learn. He responded positively, saying he was happy to receive the feedback and even asked Desai for tips on improving his health regimen.
Summary: Varun Dhawan’s comments about black coffee in the morning were challenged by a health expert, but the actor responded constructively, showing openness to learning and improving his wellness practices.
