Actor Vikrant Massey has been in the news for some reason or the other for the past few days. On 20 October, on Karva Chauth, the actor shared a picture of him touching his wife Sheetal Thakur’s feet, for which many fans praised him, while many users trolled him fiercely. Recently, Vikrant talked about being from a secular family in an interview and said that every religion is respected in his family. The actor also told that his brother is a Muslim but worships Lakshmi.
Vikrant Massey recently told Shubhankar Mishra in his podcast that his mother is a Sikh but wears a bindi. His father is a Christian. His elder brother Moin converted to Islam at the age of 17. He accepted Islam. But despite being from different religions, they all have full faith in every religion.
On being trolled for his Karwa Chauth photo with his wife, the actor said, ‘My mother, who was a Sikh, used to wear a bindi and stand with us during Karwa Chauth. Since childhood, we have been visiting temples and Mata Rani’s pandals used to be set up outside our house, which we have always been a part of. All religions are respected in our family and this is absolutely normal.’
Vikrant Massey told that despite being a Christian, his father has visited the Vaishno Mata temple six times and goes to church twice a week. He said, ‘This is India. This is a part of our Hindustan, yet it surprises people. There is a temple in my house and my son’s name is Vardaan. This unity is the fabric of our nation.’
Along with this, Vikrant Massey told that his brother accepted Islam, but despite this he celebrates Diwali and Holi with the family with full devotion. He worships Lakshmi every Diwali. The actor said, ‘My brother worships Lakshmi on Diwali. His conversion is his personal choice. But we celebrate Diwali and Holi together here. On the occasion of Eid, we celebrate Eid by eating biryani at his place.’
Let us tell you, Vikrant Massey will soon be seen in Ranjan Chandel’s directed film The Sabarmati Report. This film is based on the Godhra incident that took place in Gujarat in the year 2002.
