Vishwanath And Sons Box Office Day 6: Suriya Starrer Still ₹52.5 Crore Away From Clean Success

20  Aug 2026 (Navroze Bureau) :  Suriya and Mamitha Baiju’s Vishwanath And Sons has entered its first week with a noticeable weekday slowdown. Early estimates suggest the film earned around ₹5–5.5 crore on Day 6, taking its India net collection to approximately ₹77.5–78 crore.

Day 6 Collection Shows Weekday Slowdown

The film’s Day 6 earnings indicate a gradual decline after its strong opening weekend.

It reportedly collected ₹15.35 crore on Day 1, followed by ₹22.25 crore on Day 2 and ₹20.55 crore on Day 3. Collections then dropped to ₹7.80 crore on Day 4 and ₹6.35 crore on Day 5.

₹52.5 Crore More Needed for Clean Success

According to early trade estimates, the film has recovered roughly 59% of its reported ₹130-crore budget through its India net earnings.

To cross the reported investment figure and enter the clean-success zone, the film would need to collect approximately another ₹52.5 crore domestically.

Worldwide Collection Remains Strong

Despite the domestic slowdown, the film has continued to perform well globally.

India Today’s latest figures put the film’s worldwide gross at around ₹135.49 crore after six days, including approximately ₹89.49 crore from India and ₹46 crore from overseas markets.

Tamil and Telugu Markets Continue to Contribute

The film has maintained a presence across both Tamil and Telugu markets.

On Day 6, the Telugu version reportedly performed slightly better than the Tamil version in India, with estimated collections of ₹2.60 crore and ₹2.50 crore respectively, according to India Today’s cited trade figures.

Strong Opening Weekend Helped the Film

Vishwanath And Sons had a strong start during the Independence Day release period.

The film crossed the ₹100-crore worldwide mark within its first few days, giving Suriya another strong theatrical opening in 2026 following the success of Karuppu.

The Challenge Ahead

The major question now is whether Vishwanath And Sons can maintain enough momentum during its second weekend.

A strong weekend rebound could help the film narrow the gap to its reported ₹130-crore investment. However, continued weekday declines would make the road to a clean commercial success considerably more difficult.

Suriya’s 2026 Box Office Run

The film is Suriya’s second major theatrical release of 2026 after Karuppu, which reportedly achieved a much larger worldwide haul.

Vishwanath And Sons has therefore added another strong performer to his year, although its final verdict will depend on its remaining theatrical run and overall recovery.
