Wholesale Inflation Eases: WPI Drops from 2.36% to 1.89% in November

Delhi, December 16, 2024 (Navroze Bureau) – India’s wholesale inflation fell to 1.89 percent on an annual basis in November, from 2.36 percent in October. According to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the main reason for the positive inflation rate in November is the increase in prices of food items, food products, other construction, textiles, machinery and equipment. According to government data, food inflation stood at 8.29 percent in November, while it was 11.59 percent in October.

Let us tell you that the country’s retail inflation rate has declined. According to the data released on December 12, India’s retail inflation rate came down to 5.48 percent in November due to softening of prices of food items. Last month i.e. in October 2024, it was at 6.21 percent.
