16 vehicles were fined for violating traffic rules under road safety regulations

Mandi Gobindgarh/Fatehgarh Sahib, January 10: With the aim of preventing road accidents and ensuring safe driving, the Punjab Government has been observing Road Safety Month across the state until January 31. As part of this initiative, the Regional Transport Office conducted an awareness campaign in Mandi Gobindgarh, during which 16 vehicles were fined for violating traffic rules, and drivers were educated about road safety.

District Assistant Transport Officer Mr. Pradeep Singh informed that, as part of the awareness campaign, fines were issued for 4 overloaded vehicles, 1 tractor-trailer being used commercially, 1 vehicle driving without documents, 6 without licenses, 2 without fitness certificates, and 2 without pollution certificates.

The ADTO emphasized that road safety is crucial in today’s times, as many lives are lost in road accidents daily. He stated that following traffic rules while driving can help prevent accidents. He also urged children under 18 to refrain from driving vehicles.
