Deputy Commissioner Promotes Yoga to Build a Healthier Community

Bathinda, 17 June 2025 : Under the “Healthy Punjab” initiative launched by Punjab Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, the CM di Yogshala program is playing a significant role in building a healthier Punjab. Through this initiative, district residents are being connected to yoga to make them healthier and fitter. This information was shared by Deputy Commissioner Mr. Shaukat Ahmed Pare.

Providing further details, yoga teacher Kamaljot stated that for the past one and a half years, yoga classes have been regularly conducted under the “CM di Yogshala” program. She explained that yoga makes human life pure, healthy, and disease-free. With daily practice, not only does the body stay fit, but it also brings peace to the mind and soul.

During this session, members of the yoga class shared that regular yoga practice has helped cure many of their physical and mental ailments. Yoga member Seema Rani mentioned that she used to suffer severely from asthma and had to use an inhaler daily. However, for the past three months, she has stopped using the inhaler entirely. Similarly, Rama Kohli said that before practicing yoga, she had high blood pressure and used to take medication daily. But now, it has been a month since she last took her BP medicine.

Another yoga participant, Sunita Rani, shared that she had a severe cervical issue, which has now been cured through yoga. Likewise, many other members shared that their excessive body weight has reduced, and several of them have found relief from various other illnesses through yoga.

They also informed that yoga classes are conducted daily at the following times and locations:

  • Morning 5:15 to 6:15 AM
  • Morning 6:20 to 7:20 AM
  • Morning 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at Panchayati Dharamshala
  • Morning 9:50 to 10:50 AM at Baba Jeevan Singh Gurdwara, Gandhi Basti
  • Evening 4:30 to 5:30 PM at Old Age Home, Rampura Phul
  • Evening 5:45 to 6:45 PM at Sewa Samiti, Rampura Phul

These classes are open for all and are contributing greatly to the health and well-being of the community.
