Deputy Commissioner taking feedback on registry process; strict action on bribery complaints

Fatehgarh Sahib,25 July 2025: To prevent corruption during the registry process, the Punjab government has launched the Easy Registration Project. To successfully implement this project in Fatehgarh Sahib district, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Sona Thind today held a meeting at the District Administrative Complex (Bachat Bhawan) with deed writers, lawyers, typists, and property dealers providing services in the district’s tehsils. She also made them aware of the government’s clear guidelines. Sub-Divisional Magistrates and the District Revenue Officer were also present during the meeting.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Sona Thind stated that the main objective of this project is to ensure transparent, efficient, and timely administrative services while preventing the exploitation of people coming to tehsils for registry work. During the meeting, she collected feedback from the attendees and issued strict instructions that if anyone is found demanding money in the name of an official, strict legal action will be taken.

She also shared that she personally contacts around 5% of the applicants who complete their easy registration process to take feedback and ask whether any bribe was demanded at any stage.

The Deputy Commissioner added that she would also conduct surprise inspections of tehsils from time to time to assess the functioning of the officials and ensure full compliance with the government’s directives regarding easy registration.

SDM Arvind Kumar Gupta, SDM Amloh Chetan Bangar, SDM Bassi Pathana Harveer Kaur, District Revenue Officer Karun Gupta, and other officials from the Revenue Department were also present during the meeting.

Summary:
To ensure transparency in property registration, the Deputy Commissioner is collecting feedback from individuals completing their registry. Any bribery-related complaints will be dealt with immediately.
