20  july 2026 (Navroze Bureau) :  The Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) has extended the state’s 300-unit free electricity scheme to lawyers’ chambers located within court complexes.

The decision is expected to provide relief to legal professionals by bringing eligible court chambers under the ambit of the free power benefit.

Scheme Extended to Court Chambers

Under the decision, eligible lawyers’ chambers will be able to avail themselves of the benefit of up to 300 units of free electricity as per the applicable rules and conditions.

The move is likely to benefit lawyers who operate from chambers in court premises across Punjab.

Relief for Legal Professionals

The extension is expected to reduce electricity expenses for eligible advocates and bring them within the scope of a scheme that has already benefited several categories of consumers in the state.

The exact implementation will depend on PSPCL’s applicable guidelines and eligibility conditions.
