Punjab Farmers to Join Delhi Rally Against Proposed India-US Trade Deal Amid Fears Over Impact on Agriculture

21   july 2026 (Navroze Bureau) :  Farmers from Punjab are set to participate in a rally at Kisan Ghat in Delhi on July 21 to protest against the proposed India-US trade deal. Farmers from Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan are also expected to join the demonstration.

The rally is being organised under the banner of Desh Bachao Morcha, with farmer groups claiming that the proposed agreement could hurt farmers, agricultural labourers, livestock rearers and small traders.

Farmers Raise Concerns Over Trade Deal

Farmer organisations have expressed concern that cheaper agricultural imports under the proposed agreement could put pressure on Indian farmers and the domestic agriculture and dairy sectors.

They have called for the protection of farmers’ interests and greater clarity over the proposed trade pact.

Farmers Mobilise From Punjab

Farmers from several parts of Punjab have begun travelling towards Delhi for the rally. Hundreds of farmers reportedly gathered at Beas before heading towards the national capital in a convoy.
