4 Aug 2026 (Navroze Bureau) : Hoshiarpur: Following the guidelines of the Punjab School Education Department, under the able leadership of District Education Officer (Secondary) Harjinder Kaur and the supervision of District Sports Coordinator Jagjit Singh, the students of Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Railway Mandi, Hoshiarpur delivered an exceptional performance in the zonal-level sports competitions.
The school’s talented athletes secured victories in all their matches across a wide range of events, including football, basketball, kho-kho, table tennis, yoga, handball, hockey, cricket, chess, judo, kurash, boxing, kickboxing, fencing, badminton, and karate, thereby qualifying for the district-level tournament.
Upon their return to the school after their impressive performance in the zonal games, the victorious students received a warm and grand welcome. School Principal Rajan Arora and Vice Principal Puneet felicitated the players by presenting them with medals and congratulated them on their remarkable achievement.
On the occasion, special appreciation was also extended to the school’s physical education teachers, Sarbjit Kaur and Simmi Bala, for their contribution to the team’s success.
