21 September 2026 (Navroze Bureau) : Pakistani radio jockey Dr Ejaz Waris has apologised to Katrina Kaif after facing criticism for remarks about the actor’s appearance and post-pregnancy weight.
The apology came after Salman Khan addressed body-shaming and trolling during the latest episode of Bigg Boss 20, without naming Waris directly.
RJ Says He Regrets His Remarks
Waris shared a video on social media apologising to Katrina and others who were offended by his comments.
He said Salman’s remarks on Bigg Boss made him reflect on what he had said and acknowledge that his words could have hurt Katrina and her fans.
The RJ maintained that body-shaming was not his intention but admitted that his comments were inappropriate.
‘I Just Joked a Bit for the Hook’
In his apology video, Waris said he had made the comments casually while creating a “hook” for his video.
He said he was a fan of both Salman and Katrina and acknowledged that he should not have made those remarks.
Waris also apologised directly to Salman and described Katrina as a “superstar of India.”
What Started the Controversy
The controversy began after Katrina appeared at the Ambani Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations with her husband, actor Vicky Kaushal.
The appearance attracted online comments about her body and post-pregnancy weight. Waris was among those who commented on her appearance, triggering criticism on social media.
Katrina and Vicky welcomed their son in November 2025, and the public appearance marked one of her first major appearances since becoming a mother.

During Bigg Boss 20 Weekend Ka Vaar, Salman strongly criticised people who mock celebrities over their body, age, appearance and post-pregnancy changes.
Although he did not name Katrina, his remarks came amid the online criticism she had received following her public appearance.
Salman questioned why people would target a woman for changes to her body after becoming a mother, saying she should be allowed to spend time with her family before returning to work.

Waris said the controversy had left him with a sense of guilt and that he wanted to take back his words.
He acknowledged that, regardless of his stated intention, his remarks had hurt people. He later disabled comments on his social-media post.
Ali Zafar Had Also Defended Katrina
The controversy had earlier drawn a response from Pakistani actor Ali Zafar, who criticised comments about Katrina’s appearance and spoke against judging women based on conventional beauty standards.
