Petrol and Diesel Prices Reduced: Check the Latest Rates

Chandigarh, December 31, 2024 : Despite the rise in crude oil prices, government oil companies have given a gift to the common man on the last day of the year, December 31, 2024. Today, retail prices of petrol and diesel have decreased in several states, including Uttar Pradesh. However, there has been no change in fuel prices in major cities like Delhi and Mumbai.

According to government oil companies, in Gautam Buddha Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh, petrol has dropped by 16 paise to ₹94.71 per liter, while diesel has decreased by 20 paise to ₹87.81 per liter. In Ghaziabad, petrol is down by 12 paise to ₹94.58 per liter, and diesel has fallen by 14 paise to ₹87.67 per liter.

In Uttar Pradesh’s capital, Lucknow, petrol prices have dropped by 17 paise to ₹94.52 per liter, and diesel prices have decreased by 20 paise to ₹87.61 per liter. Meanwhile, in Haryana’s capital, Gurugram, petrol has become cheaper by 14 paise, priced at ₹95.11 per liter, while diesel has risen by 13 paise to ₹87.97 per liter.

Talking about crude oil, its prices have risen in the last 24 hours. The price of Brent Crude has reached $74.39 per barrel, while WTI has increased to $71.39 per barrel.

New rates are updated daily at 6 AM.

The prices of petrol and diesel are revised every day and come into effect from 6 AM. After adding excise duty, dealer commission, VAT, and other charges, the cost of petrol and diesel almost doubles from the base price. This is why their prices appear so high.
