He said that 3.50 km of this drain falls in Gurdaspur city. Mr. Bahl said that despite the passage of a decade since the construction of the drain, no leader has paid attention to this drain, due to which due to the presence of grass etc. in this drain, its water often overflows during the rainy season and water of this drain enters the houses of the people, causing damage. Apart from this, since this drain is raw, its dirty water seeps into the ground, due to which the underground drinking water of the uninhabited colonies around this drain is also getting polluted.

Chairman Mr. Raman Bahl said that a large population of Gurdaspur city is uninhabited on both sides of the Nabipur Cut Drain, but the leaders of the opposition parties who do politics on petty issues have never shown this big issue of the people. Mr. Bahl said that during the Lok Sabha elections, when Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann came to Gurdaspur city, he brought the issue of Nabipur Cut Drain to his attention and demanded its permanent solution. He said that the Chief Minister, accepting his demand, has approved a project worth Rs. 5.70 crore to pave the Nabipur Cut Drain passing through Gurdaspur city.

Chairman Mr. Raman Bahl further said that the Nabipur Cut Drain in Gurdaspur city will be paved at a cost of Rs. 5.70 crore and a three feet foot path will also be built on both sides of the drain. He said that along with this, pillars will be built on the banks of the drain at a distance of 20-20 feet so that its strength can be increased. He said that three-three feet high iron barriers will also be installed on both the banks of the drain. He said that with the paving of this drain, not only will its overflow be stopped, but also its dirty water will not erode in the ground. He said that with the paving of the drain, its beauty will also increase.

Chairman Mr. Raman Bahl said that the tender for this project has been floated and its work will be allotted soon. He said that this project will be started around February 10 and the project will be completed by March 31, 2025.

Chairman Mr. Raman Bahl said that his politics has always been about development and solving people’s issues. He said that in comparison, the leaders of the opposition parties only do politics of deception with narrow thinking and make people fight among themselves and mislead them. He said that the leaders of the opposition parties have never seen the decades-old problem facing the city residents due to the Nabipur drain, nor have they ever made any effort to solve it. He said that the people of Gurdaspur are in favor of development and they will strongly reject the hatred and divisive politics of the opponents.

Chairman Mr. Raman Bahl has also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Chief Minister Mr. Bhagwant Singh Mann for solving the decades-old problem of the people of Gurdaspur city.
