IELTS Centers’ Licenses Suspended Until June 2025, Says District Magistrate

Faridkot, April 30, 2025: District Magistrate of Faridkot, Madam Poonamdeep Kaur, IAS, has issued orders under Section 163 of the Indian Citizens Security Code 2023, exercising the powers conferred upon her. These orders impose various restrictions in the Faridkot district. The orders will remain in effect until June 18, 2025.

Ban on holding programs with loudspeakers in streets or localities during religious or celebratory events
The District Magistrate has imposed a ban on the use of loudspeakers within the Faridkot district. Furthermore, no religious programs, gatherings, rallies, or public events can be held in streets or localities without the prior approval of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, particularly during religious or celebratory events.

Ban on assembly of five or more persons in public places to maintain law and order
In order to maintain law and order in the district, the District Magistrate has issued an order prohibiting the gathering of five or more people at public and government places for meetings, protests, rallies, or demonstrations. Only in exceptional circumstances, with written approval from the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, can public meetings and religious processions be allowed, subject to specific conditions. This order will not apply to police on duty, home guards, military/paramilitary forces, or peaceful wedding processions.

Ban on triple riding, riding without number plates, and use of vehicles by minors
The District Magistrate has imposed a ban on triple riding on two-wheelers (except for children), the use of vehicles by individuals under 18 years of age, and modifications to vehicles, such as removing horns or silencers, to create disturbing or alarming sounds. This ban will remain in effect until June 18, 2025.

Ban on the use of domestic gas cylinders in commercial establishments
Additionally, the District Magistrate has imposed a ban on the use of domestic gas cylinders in commercial establishments, including restaurants, dhabas, and tea stalls. This restriction will be in place until June 18, 2025.
