Under the “Every Friday, Attack Dengue” campaign, the District Health Department conducted a special inspection and awareness drive at various nurseries and other vulnerable locations across the district to prevent dengue.
The campaign was conducted under the leadership of Civil Surgeon Dr. Sangeeta Jain, with senior health officials and field staff actively participating. Students of a nursing college also joined the health teams and assisted in inspection and awareness activities.
Health teams thoroughly inspected nurseries for stagnant water, places where water could accumulate, and potential mosquito breeding sites, and also carried out spraying of insecticide. Nursery owners and workers were educated about preventing dengue by ensuring that water does not remain stagnant, regularly cleaning flower pots and other water-holding containers, and immediately eliminating potential mosquito breeding sites.
District Epidemiologist Dr. Anamika Soni appealed to the public to ensure every Friday that there is no stagnant water in and around their homes, shops, offices and surrounding areas, and to eliminate dengue mosquito larvae before they have a chance to develop.
She said, “Every Friday, attack dengue and keep your home and surroundings clean.” It is worth mentioning that the campaign is now also being conducted every Monday.
