Documentary Dedicated to 650th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Shown in Kharar’s Villages Bibipur, Cholta Kalan and Cholta Khurd

Kharar (Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar), October 6, 2026:

A special 30-minute documentary film dedicated to the 650th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj, initiated by the Punjab Government, was screened through LED screens in the villages of Bibipur, Cholta Kalan and Cholta Khurd in Kharar block. A large number of villagers participated on the occasion and watched the documentary with devotion. The film highlighted the life and teachings of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj and his outstanding contribution to social reform.

Sharing details, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Kharar, Mr. Gurmeet Singh said that the Punjab Government has undertaken this special initiative to commemorate the 650th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj. Under the initiative, the documentary is being screened through LED screens across villages. He said the primary objective is to take the message of equality, brotherhood, social harmony and service to humanity given by Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj to people from all sections of society.

He said the documentary effectively portrays the life and teachings of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj, along with his message of eliminating social hierarchy, discrimination and inequality. Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj showed humanity the path of rising above caste and social discrimination and living with mutual love, respect and equality.

SDM Mr. Gurmeet Singh said that the teachings of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj remain highly relevant and inspirational for society even today. He said that by following the path shown by Guru Ji, people should further strengthen the spirit of social harmony, mutual respect and equality in society.
