Jaito, August 3:
As part of the Punjab Government’s commemorative events marking the 650th Prakash Purab (birth anniversary) of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji, a documentary based on the life, teachings, philosophy, and social reformist vision of the revered saint was screened today at Village Ghaniya in the Jaito Assembly constituency.
A large number of villagers, youth, women, and students attended the event and watched the documentary with great interest. The film effectively highlighted Guru Ravidas Ji’s message of equality, communal harmony, humanity, the dignity of labour, and the eradication of caste-based discrimination and social inequality.
Villagers said that the teachings of Guru Ravidas Ji promote the ideals of universal welfare, social equality, and mutual love and respect. They appreciated that through documentary screenings and awareness programmes being organized in villages across the district, the Punjab Government is connecting the younger generation with the life and timeless teachings of Guru Ravidas Ji as part of the celebrations of his 650th Prakash Purab.
They also praised the Punjab Government’s initiative, stating that such programmes play an important role in strengthening social harmony, communal unity, and human values within society.
