Malerkotla, August 13: In accordance with the directions of the Election Commission of India, the draft electoral roll for Assembly Constituencies Malerkotla-105 and Amargarh-106 in Malerkotla district has been published under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026. Copies of the draft electoral rolls and CDs were provided to representatives of various political parties.
Additional Deputy Commissioner-cum-Additional District Election Officer Rajdeep Singh Brar shared information regarding the SIR process with representatives of political parties. He said that, according to the published draft electoral roll, 1,51,994 voters are registered across 206 polling booths in Assembly Constituency Malerkotla-105. Similarly, Assembly Constituency Amargarh-106 has 200 polling booths and 1,54,659 registered voters. Together, the two constituencies have 406 polling booths and 3,06,653 voters.
He said that voters who wish to file claims and objections can do so from August 13 to September 12, 2026. The process of disposing of these claims and objections will continue until October 8, while the final electoral roll will be published on October 12.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner further informed that under the SIR process, 3,396 unmapped voters and 34,032 discrepancies have been identified in Assembly Constituency Malerkotla-105, while 3,847 unmapped voters and 16,232 discrepancies have been identified in Assembly Constituency Amargarh-106. Thus, a total of 7,243 unmapped voters and 50,264 discrepancies have been identified across both constituencies.
He appealed to representatives of political parties to encourage unmapped citizens in their respective areas to get their votes mapped so that their names can be included in the final electoral roll to be published on October 12.
On the occasion, Election Tehsildar Brij Mohan, District President of the Aam Aadmi Party-cum-Chairman of the District Planning Committee Sakib Ali Raja, State Secretary of the Bahujan Samaj Party Shamshad Ali, General Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party Sandeep Sood, Sinderpal Singh from the Congress Party, Safool Aslam from the Shiromani Akali Dal, Manpreet Singh, and representatives of various other political parties were present.
