Qadian/Batala, September 9: A cleanliness drive was carried out in Qadian under the leadership of Gureiqbal Singh Mahal, in-charge of the Qadian Assembly constituency.
Speaking on the occasion, Gureiqbal Singh Mahal said that sanitation workers are performing their duties with full dedication and sincerity in various areas of Qadian city.
He said that the state government, under the leadership of Bhagwant Singh Mann, is making tireless efforts to make Punjab clean and beautiful.
He said that due to the lack of cleaning of the city’s drains for several years, many of them had become clogged with dirt, silt and garbage. Now, the Municipal Council is continuously carrying out cleaning work on these drains. He said that in the coming days, all drains in all wards of Qadian city will be cleaned and the drainage system will be streamlined, so that residents can get relief from the problem of stagnant water.
He appealed to all city residents to fulfill their responsibility in keeping the city clean. He urged people not to throw garbage and plastic bags into the drains and to minimize the use of plastic bags.
