Amritsar, August 4 ( ) – Acting on the directions of Municipal Commissioner Mr. Bikramjit Singh Shergill and Additional Municipal Commissioner Dr. Jai Inder Singh, and in compliance with the orders of the Hon’ble Punjab and Haryana High Court regarding the removal of illegal dairies operating within the Municipal Corporation limits, the Municipal Corporation Amritsar today carried out a special enforcement drive against an illegal dairy in the Dal Mandi area. During the operation, the Municipal Corporation team seized two animals in accordance with the rules and shifted them to the Municipal Corporation’s Gaushala.
The enforcement drive was conducted under the supervision of Medical Officer Health (MOH) Dr. Kiran and Chief Sanitary Officer (CSO) J.P. Babbar. Ranjit Singh, CSI Sarabjit Singh, SI Ravinder Rana, Tejinder Kumar, and the Punjab Police team played a significant role in ensuring the successful completion of the operation.
Municipal Corporation officials stated that illegal dairies operating within the Municipal Corporation limits not only violate municipal regulations but also pose serious threats to sanitation, the environment, and public health. Such activities create inconvenience for residents and adversely affect the city’s cleanliness. The Municipal Corporation remains committed to providing a clean, safe, and healthy environment for the citizens, and such enforcement drives will continue on a regular basis.
Additional Municipal Commissioner Dr. Jai Inder Singh issued a stern warning to all owners of illegal dairies operating within the Municipal Corporation limits to immediately cease their unauthorized activities. He made it clear that the Corporation’s campaign against illegal dairies will continue without any relaxation, and strict legal action, including the seizure of animals, will be taken against those violating the rules. He also appealed to dairy owners to operate their businesses only from authorized locations.
