Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan Day was observed today at government health institutions across the district. Pregnant women were provided information on safe motherhood and underwent special health check-ups.
Sharing details, District Family Welfare Officer Dr. Tamanna Singal said that various health check-ups and awareness activities were conducted for pregnant women at all Community Health Centres (CHCs), Primary Health Centres (PHCs), Sub-Divisional Hospitals and the District Hospital in the district. Special emphasis was laid on routine health check-ups, necessary tests, health counselling and the identification of high-risk pregnancies.
Dr. Tamanna further said that the Health Department encouraged pregnant women to undergo regular health check-ups during pregnancy, consume a balanced and nutritious diet, and follow the advice provided by healthcare professionals. She said that timely antenatal check-ups and early identification of high-risk pregnancies are extremely important for the health and well-being of both the mother and the child.
