Punjab Doubles Down: Cashless ₹1.5 Lakh Emergency Care for Accident Victims

Barnala,20 June 2025 : Deputy Commissioner of Barnala, Shri T. Bhanith, IAS, announced that Grievance Redressal Officers have been appointed for public convenience under the “Cashless Treatment of Road Accident Victims Scheme 2025”.

He explained that under this scheme, cashless medical treatment up to ₹1.5 lakh is provided to road accident victims during the first 7 days after the incident. Across the country, nearly 30,000 empanelled hospitals are available where patients can receive treatment under this scheme. The Deputy Commissioner further stated that during the critical “Golden Hour”, patients can receive immediate medical attention, reducing the financial burden on families.

For Barnala districtthree officers have been designated as Grievance Redressal Officers under this scheme:

These officers have been appointed to ensure that eligible individuals receive maximum assistance and support through the scheme.

Summary: The Centre’s Cashless Treatment Scheme-2025 ensures accident victims receive up to ₹1.5 lakh in emergency care for seven days at designated hospitals—no upfront payment needed.
