Gharuan, September 15:
As per the directions of the Punjab Government and Civil Surgeon Dr. Sangeeta Jain, a special survey regarding migratory fever was conducted by the health team of Primary Health Centre (PHC) Gharuan in a slum area located near Chandigarh University. The survey was conducted under the leadership of Senior Medical Officer Dr. Preet Mohan Singh Khurana.
During the survey, health workers Baljinder Singh and Manpreet Singh, along with breeding checkers from PHC Gharuan, went door-to-door to collect information about the health conditions of residents. Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) kits were used to examine individuals suffering from fever or fever-related symptoms, and health-related advice was provided as required.
Senior Medical Officer Dr. Preet Mohan Singh Khurana said that timely surveys and testing in areas with migrant populations are extremely important for preventing diseases. He said that the Health Department is not only creating awareness among people about fever, mosquito-borne diseases and other related health issues, but is also ensuring prompt testing of suspected cases.
He appealed to people that in case of fever, instead of taking medicines on their own, they should get themselves examined at the nearest government health centre and extend full cooperation to the Health Department teams during such surveys.
