Bathinda,18 June 2025 : – District Magistrate Mr. Shaukat Ahmad Pare has issued orders enforcing various restrictions within the district boundaries, exercising the powers conferred under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) 2023.
According to the issued orders:
- The storage, transportation, use, or sale of unauthorized fertilizers within the district is strictly prohibited.
- In both rural and urban areas of the district, digging of unapproved borewells without written permission is banned. No individual is allowed to dig such borewells without written approval and supervision from the Executive Engineer, Public Health Division, Bathinda or the Executive Engineer, Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Board, Bathinda.
- For maintaining law and order and public peace in the district, all PG (paying guest) owners must register their PG accommodations and also get the residents (students/tenants) verified through the concerned police station or Saanjh Kendra.
- PG owners are also instructed to ensure proper security measures in their accommodations, including installation of fire extinguishers and CCTV cameras, to prevent any anti-social elements from disturbing peace under the guise of being students or tenants.
- The use or flying of drone cameras is completely prohibited within and up to 500 meters around the Central Jail in Bathinda. Additionally, movement of any individual (except on the main road) within this 500-meter radius is restricted between 8 PM and 6 AM under Section 163.
- Furthermore, complete prohibition is imposed on any provocative speeches or statements made during rallies, meetings, or sit-ins that may hurt the sentiments of individuals, specific persons, religions, castes, or communities.
These orders will remain in force until August 9, 2025.
Summary:
To maintain law and order, the District Magistrate has announced several restrictions throughout the district, effective immediately. Compliance is mandatory for all residents.
