District Admin Ensures Security, Facilities for Amarnath Yatra: Amarbeer Kaur Bhullar

Hoshiarpur 2 July 2025 : Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Amarbeer Kaur Bhullar stated that appropriate arrangements have been made for the convenience and security of pilgrims passing through the district for the Amarnath Yatra, which begins on 3 July. She said that the civil and police administrations are working together round the clock to ensure smooth coordination.

She was addressing a meeting of civil and police officers regarding the preparations for Amarnath Yatra 2025 at the District Administrative Complex. On this occasion, Assistant Commissioner Oishi Mandal, SDM Hoshiarpur Gursimranjit Kaur, and SDM Dasuya Kanwaljeet Singh were also present.

The ADC said that since a large number of pilgrims travel through Hoshiarpur district, special arrangements have been made for their convenience and safety. She directed the RTO to ensure proper inspection of buses and trucks and emphasized that pilgrims must not travel on goods vehicles, as they pose safety risks. She appealed to the pilgrims to avoid using such vehicles for the Yatra.

She further instructed the RTO to coordinate with the police for arranging recovery vans. SDMs and DSPs were directed to inspect langar (community kitchen) sites, ensure proper arrangements, safety, and traffic control, so that devotees do not face any inconvenience.

Amarbeer Kaur Bhullar also directed the Civil Surgeon to deploy medical teams at langar locations. She asked executive officers to ensure cleanliness at these sites and to deploy fire tenders. She also emphasized that single-use plastic should not be used during the langars and said that the local administration must ensure compliance with this.

She concluded by urging the civil and police departments to work in coordination with each other to fulfill their duties.

During the meeting, police officials informed that checkpoints are being set up at various places to maintain law and order during the Yatra. Special security arrangements have also been made at langar sites. At the district level, DSPs are paying special attention to security and traffic management.

All DSPs, Tehsildars, Executive Officers, Food and Supplies Controller, Assistant RTO, and other departmental officials were also present during the meeting.
