Fazilka, 24 Sep 2025 : Village Dhariwal Kaler in Ajnala tehsil of Amritsar district has been declared an “infected zone” due to the outbreak of African Swine Fever. An area within a 1-kilometer radius of the village has been marked as the infected zone, while a 10-kilometer radius has been designated as the surveillance zone. This has been notified by the Department of Animal Husbandry.
A government spokesperson stated that cases of African Swine Fever have been detected in pigs here. Therefore, the movement of live or dead pigs, pig feed, or any material related to pig farming in or out of this village has been strictly prohibited. This notification has been issued in public interest.
