Punjabi Lore Heritage Academy, Ludhiana expresses heartfelt condolence on sad demise

Ludhiana:  1 Oct 2025 : Noted writer and columnist Inderjit Kair Sidhu, a resident of Surrey (Canada), passed away today. This information was shared by Vancouver Vichar Manch representatives Mohan Gill and Angrez Brar.

On the demise of Inderjit Kair Sidhu, Prof. Gurbhajan Singh Gill, Chairman of Punjabi Lok Virasat Academy Ludhiana, expressed deep sorrow. He said she was a talented writer and columnist. In Canada’s literary community, her bold comments were always awaited. She was a kind yet fearless author who had the courage to speak the truth.

He further added that in recent times, the literary world of British Columbia has faced great loss with the passing of novelist and poet Nadeem Parmar, painter Jarnail Singh, poet and thinker Harjeet Doudhria, noted scholar Prof. Gurmeet Singh Tiwana, Punjabi poet Mahinder Sumal, and now Inderjit Kaur Sidhu.

Her colleague Surjit Madhopuri shared that Inderjit Kaur Sidhu had written more than fifteen books, including collections of poetry, stories, and essays. She was a member of the North American Punjabi Writers Association. Inderjit Sidhu also hosted radio talk shows and wrote a regular column for the Indo-Canadian Times newspaper.
