With the objective of providing students with clear guidance regarding career choices after completing their studies and making them aware of various employment opportunities, the District Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Department organised a Career Conference at the local Government College. The conference was led by District Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Officer Kanwalpuneet Kaur.
Ashok Kumar, MD of Job Rate, interacted with the students on the topic “The Key to Securing Employment.” He shared information about the changing trends in the employment sector, opportunities available in various fields, and different aspects of making informed career choices.
He said that while choosing a career, students should identify their interests, abilities and skills and plan their future accordingly. He also encouraged the students to learn new skills and continuously enhance their knowledge in order to keep pace with the changing nature of employment.
On the occasion, Kanwalpuneet Kaur said that timely career guidance helps students move forward according to their capabilities. She apprised the students of the employment-related services, skill development programmes and career guidance activities being provided by the District Employment Office.
She appealed to the students to make decisions regarding their future on the basis of proper information and their abilities, and to make maximum use of the services of the District Employment Office for necessary guidance related to careers and employment.
