Punjab Working President and MLA Sherry Kalsi distributed cards under the ‘Chief Minister Health Scheme’ at village Kaler Khurd.
Interacting with the villagers on the occasion, MLA Sherry Kalsi said that a serious illness can push an ordinary family into financial uncertainty, but a health protection scheme providing coverage of up to Rs. 10 lakh has now reached lakhs of households across Punjab. He said the government’s major objective is to ensure that every citizen remains healthy and to build a ‘Rangla Punjab’.
He said that providing quality healthcare facilities to the people of Punjab is the top priority of the government. Health cards were distributed to beneficiaries today, enabling each family to avail free treatment worth up to Rs. 10 lakh.
On the occasion, the people also wholeheartedly appreciated the government’s initiative.
MLA Sherry Kalsi further said that the scheme provides cashless treatment of up to Rs. 10 lakh without charging beneficiaries a single penny. He said the objective is not merely to provide treatment but also to ensure that no family is pushed into debt or financial distress because of illness. “Healthcare should not become a luxury that is accessible only to the rich,” he said.
