22 October 2026 (Navroze Bureau) Superstar Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 is continuing its impressive theatrical run, with the action entertainer crossing the ₹540 crore mark at the worldwide box office within its first six days. The film is now moving closer to the ₹600 crore milestone, further strengthening its position among the biggest Indian theatrical releases of 2026.
Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the sequel arrived in cinemas on October 15 and has attracted audiences across India and overseas markets. Its strong opening, sustained collections during the first week and substantial overseas business have contributed to its growing worldwide total.
According to box-office tracking reports, the film’s worldwide gross stood at approximately ₹541 crore to ₹542.45 crore after six days. Different trade trackers have reported slightly different figures, so the numbers should be considered estimates.
Jailer 2 Day 6 Box Office Collection
On its sixth day, Tuesday, October 20, Jailer 2 continued to draw audiences to cinemas. Sacnilk reported an India net collection of approximately ₹45.55 crore for the day, while other trade reports placed the figure at around ₹46.80 crore.
The film’s reported worldwide gross crossed ₹540 crore, with overseas markets making a significant contribution to the total.
Its collections have remained strong despite fluctuations during the opening week. After a substantial opening-day performance, the film recorded a dip on the following day before recovering over the weekend. The Tuesday numbers indicated that audience interest remained strong during its initial theatrical run.
Tamil Version Leads the Box Office
The Tamil version continues to be the film’s biggest contributor in India. According to Sacnilk’s reported Day 6 estimates, the Tamil release collected approximately ₹31.20 crore net, while the Telugu version earned around ₹8.75 crore.
The Hindi version contributed approximately ₹5 crore, and the Kannada version added around ₹60 lakh.
These figures highlight the film’s strong performance in its primary Tamil-language market, alongside its reach among audiences watching dubbed versions in other languages.
Overseas Collections Boost Worldwide Total
International markets have played an important role in the film’s box-office performance. Trade estimates placed its overseas gross at approximately ₹204 crore after six days.
The overseas contribution has helped the sequel move rapidly towards the ₹600 crore worldwide mark. Its performance outside India also reflects Rajinikanth’s longstanding popularity among Tamil-speaking audiences and fans of Indian cinema in international markets.
The combination of domestic collections and overseas revenue has made Jailer 2 one of the notable commercial performers of the year so far.
Can Jailer 2 Cross ₹600 Crore?
With its six-day worldwide gross estimated at around ₹541–542.45 crore, the film needs approximately ₹57.55–59 crore more to reach ₹600 crore.
The milestone appears within reach based on its opening-week performance, although the pace of collections over the coming days will be important. Box-office earnings can fluctuate because of weekday trends, audience word-of-mouth, competing releases and changes in theatre occupancy.
Crossing ₹600 crore would also bring the sequel beyond the reported lifetime worldwide collection of its predecessor, Jailer, which earned approximately ₹604.74 crore, depending on the trade source used.
About Jailer 2
Jailer 2 is the sequel to Rajinikanth’s 2023 blockbuster Jailer. The actor returns as Muthuvel Pandian, popularly known as Tiger, with Nelson Dilipkumar directing the film.
The cast includes Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Shiva Rajkumar, Mohanlal, Vidya Balan, S. J. Suryah, Mithun Chakraborty and Suraj Venjaramoodu, among others.
The sequel builds on the popularity of the original film, combining action, comedy and Rajinikanth’s signature screen presence. Its commercial performance during the opening week has placed it among the major box-office stories of 2026.
What Lies Ahead?
For now, Jailer 2 is firmly within striking distance of the ₹600 crore worldwide milestone. Its first-week collections demonstrate strong audience demand, particularly in the Tamil market and overseas territories.
The next phase of its theatrical run will determine whether it can maintain momentum beyond the opening period. While the ₹600 crore mark is the immediate target, its longer-term performance will depend on sustained audience interest and daily collections in the coming weeks.
