Abohar, March 25 : DIG Ferozepur Range, Shri Swapn Sharma IPS, visited Abohar today. During his visit, he inspected the Sadar police station and held a meeting with the staff to review the department’s functioning. On this occasion, SSP Fazilka, Shri Varinder Singh Brar, was also present.
While speaking to the media, Shri Swapn Sharma stated that under the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and under the leadership of DGP Gaurav Yadav IPS, the police have launched an anti-drug campaign. He emphasized that every individual involved in drug trafficking is being apprehended and sent to jail, as part of a major initiative to make society drug-free. He further mentioned that the police are actively dismantling the drug supply chain, with significant public participation contributing to this effort.
In response to a question, he stated that police patrolling in the area will be increased. He also highlighted that due to the strict crackdown on drug traffickers, more people are now seeking treatment at rehabilitation centers.
During the visit, he reviewed the functioning of the police station and assured that people coming for assistance would receive better services. He also directed that all pending applications be resolved promptly. He reiterated that efforts are being made to enhance police efficiency to provide improved services to the public.
