Pakistan’s Attacks on Rajasthan Thwarted by India’s S-400 Defense System

Jaipur/Jaisalmer, May 9, 2025 : After India’s airstrike in response to the Pulwama attack, Pakistan once again attempted to target Rajasthan. This is the first time since 1971 that Pakistan has targeted military installations in the state, but the Indian Army’s vigilance and advanced technology thwarted all their efforts.

Two Major Attempts—Both Foiled:

First Attack: On the night of May 7-8, Pakistan fired missiles targeting the Uttarlai, Nal, and Phalodi airbases. India’s S-400 air defense system intercepted and destroyed all the missiles in the air.

Second Attack: On the night of May 8, around 9 PM, a swarm attack using drones was launched at the Jaisalmer-Pokaran military installations. The Indian Army successfully shot down all the drones in mid-air.

Blackout, Train Cancellations, and Airport Closures:
For security reasons, a blackout was enforced in the districts of Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Bikaner, Sri Ganganagar, and Pali. The blackout in Jaisalmer will continue from 9 PM to 6 AM. Four trains departing from Jaisalmer have been canceled today. Border airports have been closed.

State Government’s Prompt Action:
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma held a high-level meeting late Thursday night. Nine Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) officers were deployed to border areas, and vacant fireman positions were immediately filled. The state government also canceled all holidays for government employees. Colleges and coaching centers in Sri Ganganagar were shut, and several villages were evacuated as a precaution.

Army and Government on High Alert:
The situation in Rajasthan is extremely sensitive. The military and administration are on high alert in border areas. The public has been urged to avoid rumors and maintain peace.

“The Indian Air Force and Army are fully alert. The security of the country is the highest priority.” – Defense Spokesperson

Summary: India’s S-400 air defense system successfully intercepted two Pakistani missile attacks on Rajasthan, preventing damage to key infrastructure and highlighting the system’s capabilities in modern warfare.
