June 4, 2025 : The aim of UPI Circle is to make UPI more convenient. Under this, even people who do not have a bank account will be able to make UPI payments. This has proven to be a better option for children and elderly people, especially those living in villages. Even if your account balance is zero. The only condition is that the child or elderly person must be included in the UPI Circle by a relative or friend.
First, let’s understand how this process works.
How does UPI Circle work?
UPI Circle involves two different parties. First, those whose bank account is linked. Payments are made from this bank account. They are called the Primary User. Second, those who will make payments from other accounts, called the Secondary User.
Now, the Primary User needs to send an invitation to a relative or friend to include them in the circle.
After that, the Secondary User must accept the invitation via the UPI app.
The Primary User can choose payment options in two ways. First, they can set a fixed amount limit for payments. The second option is that every payment request made by the Secondary User will be sent to the Primary User.
Now the next process works in two ways. In the first process, the Secondary User can make payments up to a limit from the Primary User’s account without sending a request. In the second, they must send a request for every payment.
The payment will be completed only when the Primary User approves the request.
After the transaction is complete, the payment amount and related information will be visible only in the history of the two users.
This is how UPI Circle works. Now, any user can make payments even without having their own bank account.
Summary: UPI’s new feature will now allow you to make payments easily even if your account balance is zero.
