Hoshiarpur, August 4: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Hoshiarpur organised a grand Meritorious Students’ Felicitation Ceremony at Shri Hemraj Kapoor Memorial Auditorium, DAV College, Hoshiarpur. Around 400 meritorious students from nearly 40 educational institutions across the district were honoured for their outstanding academic achievements.
Students from Class 10, Class 12, colleges, universities and various coaching institutes were felicitated during the programme. The initiative aimed to encourage academic excellence, promote healthy competition and inspire students to move forward with dedication, discipline and hard work.
The programme was graced by Chief Guest Shri Narendra Ji, Prant Pracharak, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (Punjab). Distinguished Guests included senior leader Shri Avinash Rai Khanna Ji, former Punjab Minister Shri Tikshan Sood Ji, and Chairman of the DAV Management Committee Dr. Anoop Kumar Ji.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Narendra Ji referred to Swami Vivekananda’s message of “One Nation, One Life” and said that the true meaning of life lies in how much one contributes to society and serves others. He emphasised that education is not only meant for personal success but also for fulfilling one’s responsibilities towards society and the nation. He encouraged students to use their knowledge, values and abilities for nation-building.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Avinash Rai Khanna Ji shared his experiences of working with ABVP for three years during his student life. He said that ABVP is not merely a student organisation but a platform that develops leadership, character and a spirit of nationalism among young people. Referring to Swami Vivekananda’s inspiring message, “Arise, Awake and Stop Not Till the Goal Is Reached,” he urged students to dream big and pursue their goals with determination.
Shri Tikshan Sood Ji said that he had the opportunity to work with ABVP for six years during his student days. He stated that ABVP has always worked to nurture leadership, social responsibility, national consciousness and a spirit of service among students. He encouraged the youth to actively contribute to society and place the nation’s interest above all.
In his address, Dr. Anoop Kumar Ji said that while citizens are aware of their Fundamental Rights, they should also be equally conscious of their Fundamental Duties. He urged students to fulfil their duties with the same sincerity with which they exercise their rights and to become responsible citizens.
The programme witnessed the participation of a large number of educationists, principals, teachers, parents, students and distinguished citizens. The guests appreciated ABVP’s initiative to recognise academic excellence and motivate young achievers.
At the end of the programme, ABVP Hoshiarpur expressed gratitude to all the guests, educational institutions, principals, teachers, parents, students and volunteers for their wholehearted support in making the event a grand success. The organisation expressed confidence that such initiatives would continue to inspire students towards academic excellence, leadership, social responsibility and dedicated service to the nation.
