Beneficiaries from 2022–2025 Must Link Aadhaar with Bank Accounts Before August 15: District Social Justice and Empowerment Officer

Fatehgarh Sahib, August 4:

The Government of India has announced that, from the 2026–27 academic session, applications for the Post-Matric Scholarship and all other Centrally Sponsored Scholarship Schemes will be accepted only through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).

Sharing this information, District Social Justice and Empowerment Officer Mukul Bawa said that the schemes cover eligible students belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Other Backward Classes (OBC), Economically Backward Classes (EBC), Denotified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes (DNT), as well as beneficiaries under the Top Class Education Scheme and other eligible scholarship programmes.

He urged all eligible students to complete their registration on the National Scholarship Portal and submit their scholarship applications within the prescribed timeline to avoid any inconvenience.

The officer further informed that the government is also processing pending Post-Matric Scholarship cases for eligible students from the academic years 2022–23 to 2025–26 who have not yet received their scholarship benefits.

He appealed to all such beneficiaries to link (seed) their Aadhaar number with their bank accounts before August 15 and ensure that their banking and personal details are updated in time so that scholarship payments can be credited without any delay.

The District Social Justice and Empowerment Officer also appealed to the heads of government, government-aided, and private educational institutions across the district to create awareness among eligible students about the scholarship schemes and encourage them to complete their registration and application process on the National Scholarship Portal within the stipulated time, ensuring that no deserving student is deprived of the benefits of these government scholarship programmes.
